"A Really Bad Disney Movie" - Palin

Over the last few days I have started paying a little bit more attention to the US Presidential elections.  Sarah Palin has been the person getting most of my attention.  I watched Palin's interview with Katie Couric and was amazed by what I heard, specifically the section on foreign policy and how she believes she is has been prepared for the role of VP based on her being the "Executive of Alaska", a state that shares borders with Russia and Canada.  This was classic.  Palin struck me as nervous.  She was a fish out of water - flipping and flopping all over trying desperately to survive the interview.  You could see it in her eyes.  I imagined massive sweat stains under her armpits and her feeling amazingly relieved after her interview.  Gosh....a horrid performance.  And she might be VP and possibly President of the US?  What the heck is McCain thinking.  Unbelievable.  The dumbing down of America has never been greater and the fact that she was chosen as a running-mate is now the new, pathetically low, bar that has been set in America.

I love Saturday Night Live, though I haven't watched it in many years.  After seeing the interview with Couric I watched the SNL parody of the interview.  While clearly it was a parody it was not that far off the reality of the interview and that is a very scary situation.  Have a look at the relevant section of the CBS interview:

Watch CBS Videos Online

And now watch the Saturday Night Live parody:

Not far off really...I feel the SNL was more of a caricature of Couric!

Finally.....watch Matt Damon's thrashing of Palin....I agree with him 100%.

Truly an amazing time.  WOW.
